First and foremost, I would like to express to all of you that I appreciate every current and past member of this executive and member of this party. I’m so proud of how much we do with the few resources we have. Being part of a team of such resilience and having your trust as Leader has been the centre of my life since February 29, 2020.

I have considered this decision carefully because I take the leadership of this party and our Green Values very seriously. Although our bylaws (B3.1.2) state that the Leader has the option of a four-year term after winning 3/4 of the votes submitted (i.e., 75% in favour) through a Leadership Review, I would like to reassure everyone that this does not exclude my entering a leadership race within that four-year term should party members request it and likely candidates emerge.

The leadership review ensures that although many of us will no doubt be involved in the upcoming federal election, helping our local candidates, we can feel confident that my leadership will not proceed further without the confidence of our party members.

Opportunities like this are important for member engagement, and I willingly request this review. I am also open to a leadership race at a later date if members wish for one. I am embracing all possible options to increase participation and growth within our party.

In closing, I want you to know that being the Leader of the Saskatchewan Greens and part of this executive continues to be the most important cause I have ever been involved in. I continue to feel that ensuring that we as a party speak up for the rights of Earth and its people is an incredibly worthwhile and fulfilling endeavour.
