Regina, Saskatchewan, January 30 — The Green Party of Saskatchewan (GPS) is reaching new territory in its preparations for the next provincial election. A contested nomination is upcoming in the new Regina Lakeview constituency on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre at 2420 Elphinstone Street. GPS Leader Victor Lau is thrilled about this development, “This is a big milestone for our party.” says Lau, “because it shows our party is coming of age.” The two individuals who are contesting the Regina Lakeview nomination are:
- Dianna Holigroski, Server and Prep Baker, and
- Larry Neufeld, Insurance Case Coordinator
“The NDP vote was down in Regina Lakeview in 2011 because New Democrats felt they had no one to vote for.” Lau says this next time, the voters of Regina Lakeview have the opportunity to elect a Green MLA as part of a new government in Saskatchewan. “Voters are looking for new governing options in Saskatchewan. We believe we are ready to provide a fresh voice and perspective for Saskatchewan voters in government.”
The Regina Lakeview Greens nomination is set to begin at 3:00pm on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre at 2420 Elphinstone Street.
