Saskatchewan Green Party
Annual General Meeting Announcement
We are pleased to announce this year’s Annual General Meeting will be held in Regina on June 3, 2017 at 2 pm at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 1861 McIntyre Street.
This promises to be an exciting AGM as we introduce our strategic plan for growing the party and developing the structure toward achieving electoral success in 2020. Here is your chance to shape the direction of our party as an executive member or to nominate another member to the executive who would like to be part of the leadership team of the Saskatchewan Green Party. It is also your opportunity to help us update and modernize our constitution and bylaws. We are the only true grassroots party in Saskatchewan and we rely on our membership to help support and develop the party.
If you have any proposed changes to the Constitution or Bylaws please submit them in writing by midnight of Friday, April 28, 2017. Please remember to be specific with your proposed changes. If you are proposing a change to an existing bylaw we need to know exactly which bylaw you are referring to. Please send the proposed changes to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Election of Executive
This year at the AGM we will be electing the following executive positions:
- Deputy Party Leader
- Party President
- Party Vice President
- Treasurer and Chief Official Agent
- Organizing Chair
- Fundraising Chair
- Youth Representative
To have your name added to the list of candidates for the executive, please use the download link to the nomination paper and return it either by fax to 306-956-0831 or scanned email attachment to email@example.com by the deadline of midnight Friday, April 28, 2017.
We will accept a copy of a completed nomination paper as proof of your intention to run as a candidate for the executive; however we will require the original form to be delivered in person before voting starts at the AGM. The copy of the original form submitted before the April 28 deadline must contain the signatures required and all nominators must be current party members. We look forward to creating a provincial executive team that represents a wide cross section of the province. Please read the constitution and bylaws, especially Bylaw 8, to ensure you understand the roles and responsibilities of each position. Most executive positions are a one-year term, except Party President which is a 2-year commitment.
Questions on the AGM may be directed to our Treasurer/Chief Official Agent, Dave Abbey at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 306-491-8291.
Please be aware there is a $10 registration fee, which will be counted as a renewal of membership (for existing 5 year and lifetime members the registration fee will be considered a donation). You may pay your registration fee online with your RSVP or in person at the AGM.
